St. Vincent Pallotti graduate Ashley Lyles led four McDaniel College players in double figures, including three from the IAAM, as the Green Terror defeated No. 22 Muhlenberg, 72-56, to win the Centennial Conference women's basketball championship, Sunday in Allentown, Pa.
Lyles, a senior center, finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Also in double figures was fellow senior Sally Grace, who played at Mount de Sales, and junior forward Whitney Snoops, who starred at Archbishop Spalding.
Grace scored 12 points and added four assists and two rebounds, while Snoops had a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Freshman Katelyn Fischer, who led Seton Keough to last year's IAAM A Conference championship, is also on the squad and starting at point guard. Fischer scored nine points Sunday to go with three rebounds and two assists. Fischer gave McDaniel the lead for good in the title game, with a layup that broke a 48-48 tie with 8:54 to play.
A fifth IAAM grad, junior forward Meredith Larsen is also on the Green Terror squad.
